That's right friends, Sas did it. 26.2 miles in 5 hours and 45 minutes. I didn't train nearly as much as I needed to, so my time wasn't too impressive. I ran a half marathon on Memorial day in 2 hours and 15 minutes, so my goal was to break 5 hours on the Marathon. I had no idea how hard the back 13 would be. I don't know what my split times are, but I think I ran the front half around 2:15 and the back around 3:30. I was so miserable the last 10 miles, I ran a mile and then walked a mile and the ran a mile, etc. I don't think I was running much faster than I was walking. Considering my pace for the second half was less than 4 MPH.
Marathon running is such a mental challenge. I started to "hit the wall" around mile 16-17 and all I could think was "I have 1o more miles to go." I really didn't know if I could make it. When I finally finished, my first thought was "I am never doing that again". But then I started thinking how it would be nice to actually be able to run the whole race an finish around 4 hours. So I may do another one and actually train this time.
Barger, how the hell did you run 50 miles? That is so ridiculous. I could barely walk back to my car after the race, I can't imagine doing 50. Much props.
Well, that's all I got.

I really wish there was a picture to go along with this.
Congrats, Sas!
I had to call off work today because I can't get out of bed. I can't even describe the soreness and pain my body is in right now. My advice to anyone who decides to attempt a marathon... BE SURE YOU ARE TRAINED FOR IT!!!!
never having run a marathon myself, i would also have to imagine you may want to reconsider running a month after a weekend of binging at coachella.
I never thought that I would see the day when I heard Sas talking about split time's, mile paces, and "hitting the wall". What a fag!!! Just kidding Sas man congrat's, just think the first guy that ever ran one of these things died. So at least you got him beat.
