Who's Comin' With Me?

That's a picture of Rob Lowery and Luke Fabrizuis delivering season tickets for the upcoming year. How adorable.

But, it did get me thinking about this year, and how it's our best chance in quite some time to make some noise, beat up on a bunch of no-names during non-conference play (Towson? Presbyterian? Lehigh?), inevitably lose to Duquesne, and barely earn a 7 seed only to lose in the 1st round. I'm so pumped!

But really, I am pumped. I just got done putting the schedule in my Google calendar, and noticed our home game against Xavier (remember, that's the school we hate) is on Saturday, February 6th, at noon.....and it got me thinking.

I'm thinking we get a crew to head to Dayton for that weekend. I've been able to make it to one or two games each year since graduation. Actually, a fellow colleague and Flyer have been gathering information at our trips to games in an effort to slowly turn Roncalli High School into University of Dayton High School.

Example:
Do you guys remember this dude? He started doing this during halftime a year or two after we graduated.

Well, here's a clip from our Homecoming pep rally last week.

Anyway, I was at the Xavier game last year when Lowery went down for the season and we still killed them. It was awesome. And this year, Xavier should have an off year, and we still have that dude that can dunk!

.....wait, that wasn't him. I mean this guy.

.....and this guy too.

But even if we aren't able to snag tickets to the game, it'd be pretty fun to be on campus for the weekend and watch the game from a random house (ie: barge into 301 Stonemill) or watch from the Fieldhouse or Tank's. And then of course, run around in the Ghetto.

So, here's my question....who's coming with me?

Let me know soon if you're interested in converging on Dayton that weekend, and we'll start making plans (I already called to request one of the Brown St. Alumni houses, but they're all booked).

And now, for something completely different, please enjoy this very important PSA:

*** An even more important news article was just brought to my attention by my brother, Tom. Appparently there used to be bear wrestling at Tim's!***

I am in if any of the following occur:
A) Basford makes an appearance
B) Phil Donahue comes in place of Basford
C) Gamal Gilchrist, Tony Stanley, or Nate Green are part of our crew

Keep me updated.

Costello, forgot that weekend is also Super Bowl Weekend. Which means Vegas and the Sapphire Gentleman's Club.

So I have a better idea...

Let's get the whole crew to come to Vegas...

We can black out drinking 3 foot margaritas on Friday night.

Place a wager and clean up at the sportsbook when UD kills XU on Saturday (Last year I actually won like $50 when they covered vs. St. Joes).

Then Super Bowl Sunday.... A tradition like none other... at Sapphire... $1 lap dances or $80 if your Basford.

I'm pretty sure that's where I'll be... but you know how I roll... I'll do whatever my crew tells me to do.

Superbowl, eh? I didn't realize that....I don't know if I can handle back-to-back Vegas Superbowls....unless I play the weekend like Basford and let Sas bankroll my gambling.

Oh, and Sas. On an unrelated note, Clarke left me a voicemail a couple months ago about a great New Year's Eve idea you and he had....what's the word?

New Year's eve in Steamboat Springs Colorado...

So far the following are in..

Clarke/Tory
EP/Fiance
Sas/Julie

It's going to be sweet.

And I hate to be negative nancy regarding your UD/XU idea because I think it would be awesome, but there's another conflict. You do realize that Wedding of the Century occurs on March 20th... I hope everyone plans on being in Varginia Beach that weekend to see EP bite the bullet. Whippits for everyone!!!

It's going to be hard enough for me to do Denver in January, Varginia Beach in March, and Coachella in April. Especially since I may not have a job in 2010. So there's no way I can go to Dayton in February too.

Vegas on the otherhand... pays for itself.

Well, it looks like Sas is a no-go for the Xavier game. And whoever chooses to try the SapphireBowl for the 2nd year in a row won't make it.

But, for those still considering a trip to Dayton in February, let me sweeten the pot a bit more.

My friend Erin, a fellow Flyer who I go to games with, has a little brother who's a junior at UD. He lives.....at 301 Stonemill. So guess where we can stay...for free?!

Depending on my basketball schedule, Jill and I should be in. The only reason I'm hesitant to say 100% yes, is because I got fucked over hard last year and couldn't make it to Vegas. But I will do everything I can to make it down Cos.
