Las Vegas Superbowl 2009

If you weren't fortunate to join in the 2006 Vegas Superbowl trip you missed out on some precious memories. Watching the Superbowl at a strip club. Catching a random Coldplay concert. Not seeing David Brent. Costello wearing the same powder blue tux all weekend. Staying at the Casino Royale. Sas trying to pay for a room at the Mirage by the hour. Not going to King's brother's house for a Superbowl BBQ. Outback Steakhouse.
Don't miss out again. January 30 - February 1st 2009. Sas, Costello & myself are all committed. Costello may even have bought his plane ticket. Basford will definitely go. As will Dave (not pictured above). Come one, come all. It will be a blast. RSVP in the comment box below.

Also, those participants will remember walking around Vegas, pretending to he the Arctic Monkeys, and pretending we'd just gotten kicked out of the Bellagio for trashing our room.

We're so cool.

I took the liberty of booking a hotel room now before rates skyrocket.

Imperial Palace.... $300 for the weekend...

$75 per person for 4 people or $60 per person for 5...

If we get 6 people, I reckon we get another room.

You're Welcome.

First, did everyone catch Clarke's labels for his post? Classic.

Second, I'm am heart and sould committed to making it...however, I have some issues. It's right in the middle of hoops season, and I have a wife and a job (and since my wife is reading this, I LOVE YOU JILL. CAN I GO TO VEGAS WITH THE CREW? PRETTY PLEASE?!?!)

The good news is, I have off that Saturday and I don't have practice on Monday until 5 P.M. I figure if I take a red eye to get there and a red eye home, I could be there from early saturday until early monday.

Before I beg everyone in my life to let this happen, I need to double check some details. Who is the head travel agent in the group?

As my boy Baracky Balboa would say, "YES WE CAN!"

(Somebody call me and tell me details so I can get a plane ticket for less than our national debt.)

I have a game I have to coach on Friday night...the earliest I could leave would be like 11 o'clock. But hey, it's not like you're going to be asleep if I get there at 1 A.M. on Saturday morning right?

There is one thing I learned from Clarke and Sas's romantic Austin get-away... If you book the hotel without thinking, you are forced into the weekend. You can all thank me at halftime when we are getting lap dances for $1 at Saphire's.

Garman, you should definitely fly in Friday night after your basketball game. Your arrival at 1:30 am will be exactly what I need to get my third wind. Based on their MNF performance, I pretty sure the Browns will be playing in the Super Bowl. I think the last game I watched with you was the one when Dwayne Rudd took off his helmet and got an unsportsmanlike misconduct penalty that enable KC to kick a FG with no time left on the clock. That was awesome.

Just booked my flight ($279 via Southwest's website):

I leave Indy at 6:40pm and get to Vegas at 8:00pm on Friday 1/30. And I leave Vegas at 10:20am on Monday 2/2.

Garman,

When we did this a few years ago, I got into Vegas at 1:00am (I met the guys at a lovely Outback Steakhouse above the Casino Royale...very classy).

And that year, I actually flew back Sunday (missed the Superbowl/strip club outing) and made it back to teach on that Monday.

This year, I'm taking Monday off.

My lovely boys,

I am so excited for you. And I will have you know, Aaron has been granted permission to embark on the wonderful alternate reality/adult playground/fantasy world that is las vegas. I know he is in the best hands as he makes his virgin voyage to sin city. A few requests from the wife: 1) have fun 2) spend some money 3) meet some strippers 4) get "shwilly" and finally 5) let whatever happens in vegas, stay in vegas. i have been there twice with just the ladies, so i know how it is. :)
