The Official Alumni Weekend Schedule of Events

I was asked in a recent phone conversation with "Clarke Bomb" if I would be attending reunion weekend this summer.  I'm pretty sure I said "No" before he was even finished asking the question, but after putting a little more thought into this prospect, I thinking I'm 5o/50.  Since no one is getting married this year, Alumni Weekend may be necessary to keep the Chain of Morons united.

I was looking at the UD website to see what sort of events the University had planned for their precious alumni.  Just like when I was in college, I have no intention of doing any of that crap.  Instead, I offer the Official Alumni Weekend Schedule of Events:

Friday:

First person to arrive must buy a keg for Friday night's "Late Night"

I say we get a tee time at Kittyhawk, I challenge Clarke and Garman to a skins match. Loser buys Sub House.  (I know it's usually Chipotle, but one of my goals this weekend is to hit up all the classic UD food establishments.)

After golf, we go to the Hills and wait for everyone to arrive... and then it's a free for all.

Optional activity:  Go to cemetery and get high with EP.

Saturday:

12:00 Tanks or Breakfast Club

1:00 - 5:00  Porch drinking, cornhole, and listening to Widespread Panic and String Cheese Incident.

5:00 Wa Fu

6:00-8:00 Flip cup tournament.

8:00 - 2:00 - tour of bars.
Fieldhouse...  1 fishbowl and then we leave... don't want to spend too much time at the "dorks" bar.
Flannigans... Well drinks until we fill the table with empties.
B-dubs / Millano's... I heard the refurbished Millano's is nice, there's always B-dubs to fall back on.
Tim's... of couse, end the night dancing to Kelly Clarkeson's "Since You've Been Gone".

As an alternative to Saturday's day time activities, we could go "ca-brewing".  I never partook in this ritual, so weather-permitting, I would be down.

Sunday:

12:00 - ?

We go to B-Dubs for wings and recount the weekends events until one by one we leave.

Sounds like a good time.

Seriously, I'm legitimately considering doing this.  I know Costello, Garman, and Dobmeirer have already committed.  I'm sure Walker and King would make the drive.

For the people who have to fly... that being Clarke, Basford, EP, and Barger, if 2 of the 4 go, you can count me in as well.

Amendments to the Official Schedule must be approved by Sas.

I just home from watching UD lose...to Xavier...again.

Still, being on campus once again got me motivated and excited about reunion weekend.

Here are some other activities that should happen (Sas, I leave the specific scheduling of these events to you):

- porchball

- a tour of all sites used for the filming of "Freehold"

- an encore presentation of "Freehold," projected on the side of a house, of course.

- breaking into 301 stonemill and seeing if the christmas lights are still lining the attic rafters (everyone except me can get high)

- drink a beast in the Rike Center

- attend our induction into the Intramural Soccer Hall of Fame on Founders Field

I'm sure I'll think of some more.

This is somewhat unrelated... But if you guys want to take shrooms alumni weekend... I would be down... here's why.

Seeing the Coen Brothers win Best Picture Oscar for "No Country for Old Men" brings a sense of validation to my life. That night we were tripping on shrooms at Serenity (Now) Pines and laughing our asses off to fictitious tales of "JP of the Trees", I remember discussing in depth the merits of the Coen Brothers writing / filmmaking ability. For those of us who were there (Clarke, Basford, Hippie, Gilson) we will never remember or forget that specific moment in time. That's a difficult feat. Smart kids doing stupid things... that was are motto.

Sas, on a vaguely related issue, if you go my my brothers costello webblog (the link is on this page), my older bro did a live-blog during the oscars. You'd appreciate much of his analysis.

I don't think a gay, lactose-intolerant, muslim would like "santa pizza pussy".

Just saying.

What are the Dates on this weekend? Kind of an important fact that you dumb shits have left out of the blog.

And sas what do you mean there aren't any weddings this year? does this mean you aren't going to San Fran to watch Schmidt and Bodecker get married?

June 20-22.

And Sas, it took me about 15 minutes to remember where I'd read "Santa Pizza Pussy" before. Once I figured it out, I realized you were right. I'll let my bro know.
